(Seasonal) Marina Attendant

Lake St. Clair Metropark - Harrison Township, MI - Seasonal

PAY RATE: $13.75 per hour (up to 600 hours per year or 120 days per season).

Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Additionally, eligible seasonal employees will receive a $0.60 per hour seasonal bonus for all hours worked. Click here for details.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the operation and maintenance of a marina facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.
  • Operates cash register, collects, and records daily receipts accurately.
  • Checks change fund daily.
  • Performs daily dock and ground checks.
  • Cleans restrooms and marina building.
  • Stocks all refectory and sundry items.
  • Cleans and maintains acceptable appearance of marina facility and launch site water area.
  • Responsible for slip re-rentals and assignments.
  • Advises boaters of the marina rules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
  • Ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
  • Ability to communicate using telephone and/or radio.
  • Ability to operate cash register.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Will be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays.
  • Will be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.
  • Ability to perform essential duties.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and tabulations.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED: Requires the frequent use of hand tools, yard maintenance equipment, gas pumps, pump-out equipment, and communication devices like radios, to maintain the marina, assist boaters, and ensure safe operations.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
