(Part-Time) Golf Cart Attendant

Kensington Metropark - Brighton, MI - Part Time

PAY RATE:  $14.45 per hour (up to 1,500 hours per year). 

Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. For details, click here.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the maintenance of the golf cart fleet and driving range, staging golf carts and providing excellent customer service to park patrons.       

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.

  • Provides patrons with excellent customer service.
  • Maintains golf cart fleet.
  • Stages golf carts for daily play.
  • Cleans, washes and fuels golf carts.
  • Keeps cart barn and clubhouse area clean.
  • Maintains driving range including picking up range balls, washing range balls, and keeping the range tee neat and clean.
  • Assists with directing the flow of traffic on the course. 
  • Explains facility rules to customers.
  • Assists customers with course etiquette. 
  • Assist players with any on-course related problems.
  • Alerts management to any golf course problems. 
  • Assists the Golf Service Manager with other related tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
  • Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.
  • Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
  • May be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays.
  • May be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.
  • Ability to perform essential duties.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to load, unload and move materials from one location to another.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED: Hand & power tools, golf carts, telephone, radio.

The employee is routinely required to use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls;
and reach with hands and arms. The employee is routinely required to run, climb or balance, stoop,
kneel, or crouch and must have the ability to traverse sandy, marshy, or wooded areas with uneven
terrain. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works in outside weather conditions. The
