(Seasonal) Pilot Island Queen

Kensington Metropark - Brighton, MI - Seasonal

PAY RATE:  $12.70/hour (Up to 600 hours and/or 120 days per year.). 

Seasonal Positions (up to 600 hours or 120 days) Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $3.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Additionally, eligible seasonal employees will receive a $0.60 per hour seasonal bonus for all hours worked. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the safe and orderly cruising of the Island Queen boat.  It includes navigation and driving of the Island Queen as well as enforcement of park rules and regulations.  Shall also handle money and tickets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.

  • Navigates safe and orderly cruises for park visitors.
  • Collects fees and records daily receipts with accuracy.
  • Enforces park rules and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of park policies.
  • Maintains a clean boat and keeps surrounding area litter-free.
  • Assists with the maintenance of the Island Queen.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
  • Ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
  • Ability to communicate using telephone and/or radio.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
  • Will be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays.
  • Will be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.
  • Ability to perform essential duties.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
