(Seasonal) Campground Recreation Attendant
PAY RATE: $13.75 per hour (Up to 600 hours per season)
Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Additionally, eligible seasonal employees will receive a $0.60 per hour seasonal bonus for all hours worked. For details, click here.
AVAILABILITY: Work season begins in Mid May through Mid September. Holiday and weekend availability is important in hiring consideration. Preferred applicants must especially be available to work between August 15 and September 15 to receive consideration.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the operation and general maintenance of the campground facility. Must be available for most weekend and holiday dates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to operate a point of sale system.
- Monitors sundry items and firewood. Notifies Operations when supplies are needed.
- Monitors Park visitors to ensure order and safety.
- Ability to lift bundles of firewood.
- Ability to operate a utility vehicle.
- Cleans work site building daily or more often as needed.
- Cares for campsites, keeps grounds litter free. Reports maintenance needs to Operations.
- Maintains established park rules and regulations.
- Assists in preparation of daily receipt of reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to positively interact with co-workers, supervisors and park visitors.
- Ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
- Ability to perform cash and credit transactions quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
- Physical demands can be moderate at times.
- Must have a valid Michigan Drivers License.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee is routinely required to use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is routinely required to run, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch and must have the ability to traverse sandy, marshy, or wooded areas with uneven terrain. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
