PAY RATE: $13.75 per hour (up to 1,500 hours year)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Park Maintenance Supervisor or designate, this position will be responsible for the maintenance and minor repair of park/farm maintenance equipment and will perform general grounds maintenance such as mowing and line trimming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

General maintenance of park automotive, farm equipment and power operated equipment such as mowers and string trimmers.
Operates equipment and/or vehicles to test its functioning.
Perform oil changes, change tires, change mower blades and grease equipment.
Mowing and general grounds maintenance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and maintenance of an acceptable driving record.
General Mechanic experience/skills.
Ability to understand equipment operation instructions and shop manuals and to complete logs and records of work performed.
Ability to use hand tools and manually controlled power tools requiring manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Ability to stand, stoop and bend for extended periods and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to load, unload and move materials between work locations.
Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors and park visitors.
Ability to perform essential functions.
