PSA Public Safety Attendent (Part Time) - Metroparks Police - Eastern District
The Metroparks is accepting applications to fill openings for Public Safety Attendants to work at various locations of the park team. Applicants must be able to work a 7 day per week schedule, be available for any shift, and available to work weekends and holidays. Work activities in this position primarily involve assisting the Police Department by providing information to the public prevention of unsafe conditions and the assurance that park visitors adhere to rules and regulations.
Salary: $9.25 to $10.45/hr DOQ
TYPICAL DUTIES: The duties listed below are intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employees will perform other duties as assigned.
Directs traffic and enforces parking and traffic regulations on park property.
Answers questions and gives directions to park visitors.
Advises park visitors of the park rules and regulations relating to park usage.
Assigns and checks park visitor and user permits.
Patrols sledding and toboggan hills and other winter sports areas as assigned.
Patrols hike/bike trails using bicycle and/or motorized vehicle such as moped, scooter, etc.
Renders first aid and summons medical help when necessary.
Protects public from emergency hazards.
Assists in the maintenance of area assigned.
Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
Must have valid Michigan Drivers License and clean driving record.
Ability to operate bicycle, moped, or other type of motorized vehicle.
Ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
Ability to communicate using telephone and/or radio equipment.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to traverse sandy, marshy and wooded areas with even and uneven terrain.
Ability to perform essential functions.
Selection will be based upon background, experience, and qualifications assessed in the interview process.
