Business Applications Specialist - Administrative Office

LOCATION: Administrative Office

BARGAINING UNIT / LEVEL: Professional Level 08

SALARY RANGE: $63,712 - $68,980 annually DOQ 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:  Reporting to the Information Technology Manager, this position is responsible for the maintenance and support of the Metroparks ERP and Point of Sale system.  The position requires extensive interaction with end users to ensure that the Metroparks is effectively utilizing its application investment through the analysis of business and user needs. The position provides support for departmental/site specific applications. SQL server administration and support for all applications SQL dependent.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, operation engineering or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the essential duties of the position may be substituted for a degree.
four or more years of business analysis and process redesign experience is required.
PMP Certification is preferred or four or more years of project management experience
Previous public sector experience and knowledge of parks and recreation operations is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of applications as well as working knowledge of general business processes is required.
Previous experience managing upgrades in ERP systems (New World, Tyler, JDE)
Excellent troubleshooting and strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business solutions.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, public officials and the public.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical users.
Working knowledge of typical office applications including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to operate listed equipment.
May be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays.
May be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.
Ability to perform essential duties.
